Hi and welcome to my site of handmade jewelry. I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself, where I am from and what I do. I was born in Bremerton, Washington in May of 1974. I grew up in the small costal town of Port Orchard where I stayed until I graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1992. I did have the opportunity to live in Wolfsburg, Germany for one full year as an exchange student in 1990- 1991. My year abroad was a wonderful and life changing experience. After high school, I moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where I attended a small liberal arts college. In 1993 I moved to Holland where I stayed for nearly nine years. In this time I studied psychology and received a Masters degree in Organizational Psychology.
I have always had an artistic and creative side, especially enjoying the 3-dimensional art forms such as clay and sculpting. As for the jewelry making, I began designing in 1998 and discovered a passion for the creative process of jewelry making. I like to say that I approach jewelry design much as a painter approaches a canvas, infusing each piece with light, color and movement. After living more then eight years in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I decided to move back to the USA in 2003. I then started my own jewelry design business which I continue to do today, with great pleasure, from my home in Liberty Lake, WA.
Jewelry By Leah Wong is made by hand with individually and carefully selected materials. I use only the highest quality stones, glass and metals including Austrian Swarovski crystals, fresh water pearls and sterling silver. I have a unique eye for putting color, texture and shapes together and having them all come together in a beautiful piece of jewelry. I love creating pieces that make women feel beautiful and special.
I hope that those who purchase my jewelry, or receive it as a gift, will enjoy wearing it as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I would like to thank you for visiting my site and supporting me and my passion for jewelry making with your purchase.
“The reflection of light on the canals of Amsterdam is intoxicating. The city is a surprising mix of both the romantic and the edgy. My jewelry expresses this contradiction in a blend of unexpected colors and forms.” – Leah Wong
